Regular University Details

Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCS University; formerly Meerut University, is a public state university located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university was established in 1965. It was later renamed to its current name after Chaudhary Charan Singh, former Prime minister of India. The university celebrated its silver jubilee in 1991. The university having various schools of studies viz. sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Engineering. M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes were started in 1969. In 1973, Post Graduate level courses were also introduced with the modernized syllabus. The University has many degree colleges affiliated to it. They fall in two divisions: Saharanpur and Meerut with nine districts including Saharanpur, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Gautam Budh Nagar, Bagpat, Hapur, Bulandshahr and Ghaziabad. There are 485 colleges in 2014 affiliated to the university.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) was established by the government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000 (Act No. 1248 (2)XVII-V-I-I-19-2000 Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 23 of 2000). Under the University Act, ‘Technical Education’ includes programmes of education, research and training in engineering, technology, architecture, town planning, pharmacy, applied arts and crafts and such other programmes and areas that the central government may declare by notification in the Gazette in consultation with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The university was bifurcated into the Mahamaya Technical University and Gautam Buddha Technical University as of 1 May 2010 for better management of education in the state. On 05/01/2013 the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to merge GBTU and MTU to bring back the original form of UPTU. On 31/10/2013, GBTU and MTU finally merged up back to UPTU, the university with the maximum number of Colleges affiliated to it, in India.

Maharshi Dayanand University,established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976  with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand.  It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India – for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983.
The University is located at Rohtak in the state of Haryana – about 75 kms from Delhi on Delhi-Hisar National Highway (NH-10), and is about 240 kms from Chandigarh, the State Capital. It is well connected both by rail as well as road. Rohtak is the education hub of the State with excellent facilities for education in all fields of knowledge.
Over 580 Institutions/Colleges of general education, Engineering, Technology, Computer Sciences and Management Sciences located in 10 districts of the State are affiliated to this University.

Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology (DCRUST), Murthal came into being on 6th November 2006  by upgrading erstwhile Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering, Murthal through an Act 29 of 2006 of the Legislature of the state of Haryana with the vision to facilitate and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of science, engineering, technology, architecture and management studies, humanities, and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields. The University has been considered eligible for grants under Section 12(B) of UGC Act, 1956 in March, 2009. The University has got affiliating status and the technical and professional College/Institutes located in the District Sonepat have been affiliated to the University. Six B.Tech programmes of the University have also been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). University has a Central Instrumentation Laboratory which is available to scholars belong to different departments or outside institute as central research facility. The University is located in NCR on National Highway No. 1 (G. T. Road) about 50 km from ISBT, New Delhi towards Chandigarh and 8 km from Sonepat railway station. The location of the University falls within one of the growing industrial belts of Haryana extending from Kundli to Panipat.

The Kurukshetra University was established in 1956 as a unitary residential University and its foundation stone was laid by late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Located in the holy city of Kurukshetra, land of the historical battle of ‘Mahabharata’ and the great message of Bhagwad Gita, its campus is situated on the western bank of Brahm Sarover (the holy tank) and extends over an area of over 400 acres. Starting with only the Department of Sanskrit, it has grown into a multi-faculty University as one of the premier centres for advanced study and research in the region.

University is offering world-class education to students from throughout India and other countries by providing a learning experience designed to develop intellectual abilities, as well as social, moral and ethical values. The University is equipping its students with the skills, insights, attitudes and practical experience that will enable them to become discerning citizens.

The University’s programs combine the enduring value of a liberal arts education with the skills and experience offered by professional departments. The University has 445 teaching faculty members. The University also has 457 affiliated colleges and institutes in the Districts of Ambala, Panipat, Kaithal, Yamuna Nagar, Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Karnal, Sirsa, Kurukshetra and Panchkula.

Jagannath University has been established in the year 2008, by an Act (Act No. 19 of 2008) of the Rajasthan State Legislature and is approved under section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956, vested with the authority to award Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates. The University has been established to cater to the growing needs of higher education in the country. One of the primary objectives of this University is to develop and make available, trained manpower to accelerate sustained economic growth in the current highly competitive global environment.

In order to face the challenges of globalization and liberalization in the field of higher education, the University has endowed its faculty and students with modern technologies, facilities and resources so as to enhance their competency and quality of teaching so they are able to contribute constantly towards learning & research. Arunachal University of Studies Act, 2012 (Act No. 9 of 2012) was legislated in the eighth session of the fifth Legislative Assembly which received the assent of the Hon’ble Governor on 26th May, 2012 and published in Extra Ordinary Official Gazette on 30th May, 2012.Arunachal University of Studies is a State University of Arunachal Pradesh which comes under section 2(f) of UGC Act and the University is empowered to award degrees as specified in section 22 of UGC Act of 1956. In addition the University is also empowered to award diplomas, charters, certificates, Pre-University certificates and other academic distinctions in conformity with the provisions of the University Act.

Stratford University, a Virginia public benefit corporation is a U.S. higher educational institution founded in 1976. Stratford specializes in adult education, provides placement assistance for students and graduates, and offers degrees through the doctoral level. It delivers online, classroom, and blended online/classroom programs.

Stratford University is headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia and has campuses in Virginia (Alexandria, Falls Church, Woodbridge, Newport News, Virginia Beach, and Richmond), Maryland (Baltimore), and India (New Delhi). The majority of the student body is non-traditional and works full-time while attending school. Stratford’s international student body is diverse and represents over thirty countries.

Stratford has partnered with the Global Land Coalition to provide distance education services in developing countries. The Stratford campus in India is a Joint Venture with the K. K. Modi Group, created to offer residential American degrees in India. The legal name of the Indian Joint Venture is Modi Stratford Education Management (MSEM), Pvt. Ltd. The Modi Stratford Foundation, a wholly owned non-profit subsidiary of MSEM, delivers the academic programs in India as an accredited campus of Stratford University.

In 2010, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency and Computerworld reported that the Stratford University has a larger number of F-1 Visa students receiving post-graduate Optional Practical Training (OPT) STEM extensions (727) than any other school in the US, with twice the combined total of the entire Ivy League. In 2012, Computerworld again reported that Stratford had more OPT STEM extension approvals than any other school in the US.
